BeyondTrucks Compatibility Engine Sets Rules-Based Guardrails

BeyondTrucks, provider of a platform for AI-powered truck dispatch planning and management for operationally complex fleets, today announced at the ATA MCE Annual Conference 2026 a new Compatibility Engine. Built for complex and specialized operations where a single wrong assignment can mean a rejected load, a compliance violation, or a safety incident, the Compatibility Engine automatically checks every driver, tractor, and trailer assignment against a fleet's own unique rules before a load is dispatched.

“Across hundreds of loads a day, and often under time pressure, dispatchers assign drivers, tractors, trailers, routes, and times,” said Hans Galland, CEO of BeyondTrucks. “According to BeyondTrucks research, dispatchers need to take into account on average more than 50 factors for each load assignment. Part of that job is not only finding the best plan, but also making sure every assignment is allowed because the stakes of getting it wrong are high. Our new Compatibility Engine is an automatic guardrail so any assignment, whether made by a dispatcher or recommended by BeyondTrucks' AI optimization engine, must pass the fleet's rules before it is dispatched.”

Fleets set the rules in the BeyondTrucks Compatibility Engine, so every assignment stays within their guardrails for availability, regulatory compliance, driver qualifications, equipment features, and commodity compatibility. With deterministic logic, the same inputs always produce the same answer, and nothing is left to chance, so every optimized plan is also executable.

Key capabilities of the new BeyondTrucks Compatibility Engine include:

• Flexible Rule Definition: Requirements can be set at the stop, commodity, customer or equipment level and matched against the qualifications and status of any driver, tractor, or trailer.
  
  

• Highly Configurable: Each fleet defines its own rules based on its operations, customers, and safety policies.
  
  

• Explainability: When an assignment is flagged or blocked, the dispatcher sees exactly which rule applied and why.
  
  

• Audit Trail: Overrides are logged with who made them and why, giving safety, compliance, and insurance teams a clear record.
  
  

• Live Compliance Data: Driver and equipment compliance status can feed directly into compatibility checks rather than relying on manually updated records. Integrations with compliance platforms such as GWC or DQM Connect are supported.
